The sun made the occasional attempt to peek through the clouds as we staged our summer fun tournament tonight but for the most part the conditions were windy and overcast in keeping with the summer of 2024 so far 

A series of timed tennis fours were played to establish the semi finalists and the top scorers making the semi finals were Ty Holland , Ray Masson , Ian Graham and Paul Walton for the men , and Gill White , Eileen Grigg , Heather Bryson and Helen Dyson for the ladies 

In those semi finals Gill and Ty defeated Helen and Paul with Eileen and Rob Mcninch (who as the next best male stood in for Ian who was carrying an injury) defeating Heather and Ray 

The final was a close run affair with Gill and Ty pipping Eileen and Rob and thus winning the prize vouchers from sponsors La Popote - thanks to Joseph Oliver Maximillion for coming along to make the presentations 

Runners up Eileen and Rob took home vouchers for a brewery tour courtesy of Beartown Brewery 

Both sets of sponsors were thanked as was DJ Mandy for keeping the music going during the evening and Andrew Giltrap for organising the event
