The weather was kind for the club mixed doubles championship as sixteen pairs fought it out for the Burton Shield on Sunday 28th 

The final was a very tight affair and number one seeds Adam Goodall and Kim Bennett defeated Ray Masson and Venus Moses 7-6 winning the tie break

Adriana from sponsors Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton presented the winners with their prizes and
Liz Wardlaw from the Burton family presented the trophy

The plate final was won by Helen Dyson and Rhys Eaton who beat Heather Bryson and David King and they received houseplant prizes from  Paradise Plants by Gemma

Chair Rob McNinch thanked Andrew Giltrap for organising the event , all of the sponsors , DJ Mandy Craker for playing the music , Paula Norris and John Newton for running the BBQ , Gill White and Eileen Grigg for running the bar and Gill for taking the event photos
