The 2025 social tournament season came to an end on the morning of 31st December with the new year’s eve tournament 

Sixteen  members braved  the freezing cold conditions to play a foursomes style qualification tournament with the winners and runners up in each group advancing to the semi finals 

in the match tie break semi finals Lauren Bennett and  Bobby Ferns defeated Peter Crowcroft and Louis Ferns  whilst Pat Eaton and Kim Bennett defeated Rhys Eaton and Heather Bryson 

The final saw Pat and Kim victorious and thus taking the prizes courtesy of sponsors Tandoori 22

Organiser Andrew Giltrap thanked the sponsors and all of the players for taking part in good spirit 

It was great to see three junior players in the line up and all three reached the semi finals

A number of members came down to watch the proceedings and Andrew wished the players and spectators a happy new year 

The social tournaments offer an opportunity for all members whatever their age or ability to take part in fun competitions and as Andrew now hands over the reins of organising these events to someone  else  it is hoped that members will continue to support them as in addition the entry fees are a valuable source of income for the club
