The club staged its 2024 community open day on Saturday 13th
The odd shower did not dampen the enthusiasm of the numerous visitors - adults and juniors who came along to check out the club
Kay Wesley - Mayor of Congleton was in attendance to oversee proceedings along with her husband Mike and cadet Barney , and Kay and Mike both signed up again as members
Chair Rob McNinch thanked all those who made the day a success including overall organiser Mark Smith , coaches Craig and Cesar, all of the junior tennis assistant helpers , John and Reza for running the BBQ , Charlotte and Mervyn on the inside bar , Eileen and Margaret on the outside bar , DJ Mandy for the music , Lindsay , Jackie , Shirley , Jennie ,Louise and all the ladies in the kitchen , those who made the cakes for sale , all those who volunteered to play with the visitors including Nick , Lynsey and Ivan , the friendly faces on the gate Helen and Mike , Andrew for the photographs and social media , John Davies for the decorations , Anne for organising the off court games , Ian Walker , Sue Hollis and Kerry plus Ray for all his work before the day and anyone else who played a part - sorry if we have missed anyone
Rob gave a special thanks to Sue Stanmore for once again running the raffle and presented her with a gift from the committee to recognise her involvement with the U3A tennis group and her organisation of the planters around the club as well as her leadership of our Congleton in Bloom work - Sue thanked all
those who had donated raffle prizes and especially DJM Nurseries and Astbury Garden Centre
